DJ Van Tell begann seine Karriere an den Turntables bereits im Alter von 17 Jahren in Brooklyn, New York, wo er in einem Jugendzentrum seinen ersten Gig bekam. Kurze Zeit später legte er in einem Offiziers Club der U.S. Armee auf, und wurde vom Manhattaner Radiosender 92KTU als Radio DJ eingestellt.
Die militärische Karriere seines Vaters brachte DJ Van Tell in 1989 schließlich nach Berlin, wo sich seine Name in der Clubszene rapide verbreitete. Zunächst bewies er sein Können vorwiegend in Clubs der U.S.-Streitkräfte wie z.B. im Silver Wings, Friendship, Checkpoint, und im Harnack House. Parallel dazu machte er sich auf den Weg Berliner Diskotheken wie das Chic, Silver Shadow, One Way und Afro Negro zu erobern.
Sein unglaubliches Talent als auch seine Leidenschaft für den Beruf öffneten ihm Türen zu Projekten außerhalb der Clubs, z.B. als DJ für Alba Berlin (Basketball Mannschaft), und als Gestalter von wochenend "Mixed Shows" für zwei bekannte Radiosender in Berlin. Nebenbei produzierte er insgesamt acht eigene CDs mit dem Namen "Pure Flavor". Diese Promo-CDs steigerten seine Popularität, und machten ihn außerhalb Berlin, bzw. sogar außerhalb Deutschland recht gefragt. Zur Zeit arbeitet er im Studio der Fat Beats Productions mit bekannten Künstlern wie Montell Jordan an diversen Remix-Produktionen.
Tourt er nicht gerade Clubs in Hamburg, Dresden, Leipzig oder Cottbus, findet man DJ Van Tell in angesagten Berliner Clubs wie das Tollhaus, DC3 (ehemals Dorian Gray), Dante, Ku-Dorf, Sound, Chocolate/Safe-T Club, Tabu, oder Annabelle's.

DJ Van Tell began his career on the turntables at the age of 17 in Brooklyn , New York , where he got his first gig at the local YA. A short time later, he played at a military officers' club, and was hired by Manhattan 's radio station 92KTU as a radio DJ.
His father's active military duty brought him to Berlin in 1986, where his name spread quickly in the club scene. Initially, he primarily showed his skills at U.S. military clubs such as the Silver Wings, the Friendship, the Checkpoint, and the Harnack House. At the same time, however, DJ Van Tell began to win over the german club crowds at local discos such as the Silver Shadow, the One Way and the Afro Negro.
His unbelievable talent and passion for his trade opened doors to projects outside of clubs, such as DJ-ing for Alba Berlin (a basketball team), and creating a weekend mixed show for two, well-known Berliner radio staions. DJ Van Tell also produced a series of eight own CDs entitled "Pure Flavor". These promotional CDs increased his popularity outside of Berlin , as well as outside of Germany . Currently, he is working in the Fat Beats Productions studio with artists such as Montell Jordan on various remix productions.
